Rhyd Lydan is a greatly modernised 250 year old farmhouse in the Severn valley village of Aberhafesp.

The three bedrooms we offer all have en-suite facilities and enjoy distant views across the valley. Our smallest beds are queen sized with pocket sprung mattresses. All rooms have Wifi and TV. Tea and coffee facilities are in each room plus towelling robes for those who wish to use the Jacuzzi. A travel cot and high chair are available.

Our farmhouse lounge with its’ log burner and TV is available for the exclusive use of our guests. Family card and board games are there for your enjoyment.

We provide a buffet breakfast of cereals, yoghurt, fruit and fruit juices, croissants and toast made from freshly baked bread.

Guests are able to use our kitchen to heat meals if necessary, or we are happy to make  reservations in any of the local pubs or restaurants.

We have a small, friendly, ancient, Border terrier called Archie.

There is a great choice of local activities including walking, visiting the coast, Snowdonia, clay pigeon shooting, quad biking, cycling (secure storage provided), theatre, trout fishing (in season), Powys and Montgomery castles and beautiful drives through local countryside.

Although we live in the house you have complete privacy with us on hand to give help and advice when needed.

  • We are so happy with our stay with Irene and Laurie. The accommodation was perfect for our family, and the hosts were amazing. Our 3 boys really enjoyed playing and exploring your grounds. We were looked after so well, it felt like we were visiting family which is exactly what we were looking for. We highly recommend staying and look forward to doing so again in the near future. Thank you so very much for making our trip so special.
  • I really can't recommend this listing or its hosts enough. It was my birthday weekend so I wanted something a little special and this was better than I could have imagined. Full use of a huge hot tub in a beautiful setting, a lovely breakfast spread put on for us, a spacious bedroom with the most comfortable bed an amazing views and the biggest bath I've ever seen. Every litttle detail was thought of, you couldn't ask for anything more from your hosts who even booked us a meal and took us there and back so my partner and I could have a drink for my birthday. I'll never forget this stay and we will most definitely be back - it's like a home away from home.
  • My 5 friends and I enjoyed a wonderful weekend. The hospitality was second to none - Irene and Laurie could not do enough for us! As it was my birthday, they made the trip extra special and we felt welcome and at home from start to finish. I would recommend this house to anyone, it is set in the most beautiful surroundings and we will definitely be back. Thank you both xxx
  • Irene and Laurie are such stars - they are friendly, warm, kind, thoughtful and outstanding hosts. Their home is not only beautiful and impeccably clean but has such character to it! Their stories about life's experiences ought to be heard over cake specially baked by Irene for tea in front of the cozy fire kindred by Laurie for the picture perfect home away from home experience. All of us in our party consider ourselves fortunate for meeting such a lovely couple. Thank you both :)
  • Fantastic hospitality and invited my family into there home with open arms...nothing was a problem and enjoyed our time there.
  • Irene and Laurie were amazing hosts and couldn't do enough for us. Our stay was only short but left us with a lasting impression and no hesitation on revisiting them again. The attention to detail in their home was second to non, with each room having its own bit of character. Our room had a lovely view of the valley and was wonderful to wake up to. They helped us out to go to a friends wedding not just by providing us with a lovely place to stay but also by arranging a taxi to and from the reception, giving us local hints and tips should we so need them, and also providing us with very good dinner and breakfast. Thank you Irene and Laurie. Fully recommended.
  • Stunning place, worth the money and amazing hosts
  • Irene and Laurie are absolutely lovely hosts, extremely accommodating and they couldn’t have done enough; supplied me and my boyfriend with chocolates and a glass or 2 of prosecco on Valentine’s Day which was a lovely gesture. Wonderful and interesting people who are definitely worth a chat with, and they even took us to a beautiful little pub where the food was to die for! 10/10 would recommend to everyone and great value for money, thankyou very much Irene and Laurie we can’t wait to stay again!
